Visiting Houses and Gardens

In retirement, it is valuable to have hobbies and activities that are interesting and absorbing, and that ideally enable you to meet more people with a shared interest.
Most people enjoy visiting country houses and ornamental gardens, and it is a nice focus when you visit other locations, or are on holiday. You'll find it all the more enjoyable if you do some preparatory reading, and even more so if you make contact with others, who share your interest. A good first step is to join the National Trust or some other similar organisation.
