Information for those thinking of retiring, or recently retired

Meeting people in retirement?

Whether you are thinking of retirement, or have retired already, you will want to maintain a good social life. Staying happy and enjoying retirement requires that you regularly meet people to chat and exchange ideas and opinions. Maybe you are already getting enough opportunities for social contact, but if you haven't yet retired, you'll be surprised how much of this is work-related.

Of course, if you are on your own, developing romatic relationships will be as important now as they were when you were a teenager (maybe more so!) Maybe you are thinking of meeting potential partners at dances, social events, clubs, singles holidays, or of course the internet...

There are many opportunities for you to socialise in retirement, but they all require you to do something yourself to make the most of these opportunities. If you sit in your house or flat all day watching television, then the world isn't going to come to you!!

Whatever you are thinking, we have plenty of information to get you started, with selected information sources giving you suggestions of different organisations to join, and useful publications.
