Woodworking as a Hobby
In retirement, it is valuable to have hobbies and activities that are interesting and absorbing, and that ideally enable you to meet more people with a shared interest.
Woodworking provides a great hobby, if you have the space for a workshop. When you are in the world of work, you probably would say that it isn't cost-effective to construct or repair your own items of furniture. However, in retirement, having time available is not so much an issue, and there can be great satisfaction from doing a professional job of restoring an old item, or making a new one.
