Information for those thinking of retiring, or recently retired

Reading as a Hobby

In retirement, it is valuable to have hobbies and activities that are interesting and absorbing, and that ideally enable you to meet more people with a shared interest.
Reading provides an absorbing way to fill hours on end. Even the smallest library can get books in that are not in stock, and boot sales and other events provide vast quantities of books for sale cheaply. If you find a reading or literary group locally, it will certainly add to your enjoyment. You might even want to try going to classes to take a GCSE in English Literature!!
