Golf as a Hobby
In retirement, it is valuable to have hobbies and activities that are interesting and absorbing, and that ideally enable you to meet more people with a shared interest. Golf is a good form of exercise, and provides social contact. You do need time for it, though, so it is not surprising that so many retired people take up golf. Once you are hooked, it can become an obsession, so beware! Perhaps one of the best things is that wherever you go, there always seems to be a golf course, so for example, if you go on holiday to Florida or to the Algarve, you will find a course, and quite likely meet new people in the process.
