Information for those thinking of retiring, or recently retired

Cinema as a Hobby

In retirement, it is valuable to have hobbies and activities that are interesting and absorbing, and that ideally enable you to meet more people with a shared interest.
The cinema provides great entertainment, and also can be the basis of an interested hobby, in terms of knowledge of films, actors and directors. If you just want to watch a film, then of course a DVD provides great quality, and great sound - you MUST get a surround sound system to take full advantage. But going to the cinema is still a good experience, and of course, it gives you the opportunity to see the films on first release.
