Theatre as a Hobby

It is valuable to have hobbies and activities that are interesting and absorbing, and that ideally enable you to meet more people with a shared interest.
The theatre provides many opportunities for both being entertained, and for socialising. Even small villages have drama groups, putting on shows perhaps twice a year, and a trip to larger towns can get you to venues with regular events. While attending events on your own is most enjoyable, do think about going with groups (often trips are organised combining the coach ride and maybe even accommodation overnight). If you really are keen on participating, most local drama groups will welcome new blood, and if you don't feel up to acting, you'll be even more welcome in support, like preparing scenery, fixing lighting, prompting, and taking money!
